alcohol inks
Where her paintings and mixed media works are built slowly, Jan’s alcohol inks capture something more immediate. The ink has a will of its own, and each piece becomes a collaboration between her direction and its unpredictability. The results are skies, foothills, and golden aspens rendered with a lightness that sets this work apart. Many are finished in frames Jan builds by hand from reclaimed wood, making the setting as much a part of Colorado as the scene within it.
